Presented by Karen Kim, Lydia Miller Choorapuzha, Johanna Torbenson, and Thomas Rosenberg
This all-strings program features Kodaly’s difficult, gypsy-like duo for violin and cello, and Argentinian composer Osvaldo Golijov’s Tenebrae, a rare work that both evokes pristine beauty and resonates of deep pain, depending upon the listener's perspective. Bookending these gems are pillars of the string quartet repertoire, Haydn’s delightful “Joke” quartet and Beethoven’s disturbing “Serioso.”
